Our approach

Evidence-based psychiatry, held in a humane setting

“Mind sciences” is not a slogan for us. Every plan starts with a proper diagnosis and treatments that research actually supports — then we surround that clinical core with rest, routine, movement and family involvement, because those are what make recovery hold.

Evidence first, always

Every treatment we offer is grounded in clinical evidence and international guidelines. If it isn't proven, it isn't part of the plan.

Dignity is not optional

Mental illness is a health condition, not a character flaw. People are met with the same respect they would receive on any hospital ward.

The family is part of the treatment

Recovery holds when the people at home understand it. Families are taught, supported and involved from the first week.

Care that reaches past discharge

The months after leaving are the fragile ones. Our aftercare is structured, scheduled and included — not an afterthought.

Care we provide

One institute, every level of care

People arrive at different points. The right starting place might be a single consultation or a supported residential stay — and it is easy to step between them as things change.

Conditions we treat

Whatever you are carrying, it has a name — and a treatment

Our clinicians work across the full range of psychiatric and substance-use conditions, for adults of all ages.

Therapies & interventions

The tools we actually use

Delivered by qualified therapists, matched to the person and the diagnosis — never one-size-fits-all.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) — Reframing unhelpful thought patterns

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) — Emotion regulation & distress tolerance

EMDR & trauma-focused therapy — Processing traumatic memory

Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP) — The front-line treatment for OCD

Group psychotherapy — Shared experience, practised skills

Family & systemic therapy — Healing the relationships around a person

Mindfulness & MBSR — Steadying attention and the nervous system

Yoga & movement therapy — Reconnecting mind and body

Expressive art & music therapy — When words are not enough

Occupational therapy — Rebuilding routine, structure and purpose

rTMS — Non-invasive neuromodulation for treatment-resistant depression

Psychoeducation — Understanding the condition, together

The residence

A place that lowers your shoulders

Recovery is hard enough without a hard environment. Our residence is quiet and green, with private rooms, natural light, spaces to be alone and spaces to be together.

Admissions

Four steps, and someone with you at each one

Most families reach us in a difficult week. The process is designed to be simple, quick and free of judgement.

  1. 01

    Reach out

Call our admissions desk or send a message any time. You will speak with a trained counsellor — not a call centre — who will listen first.

  2. 02

    Clinical assessment

A psychiatrist reviews the history, current risk and needs, over the phone or in person, and recommends the level of care that fits.

  3. 03

    Plan & paperwork

We confirm the room, share a clear cost estimate, and help with insurance pre-authorisation and cashless approvals where available.

  4. 04

    Arrival & settling in

On admission day the resident meets their named care team, tours the residence, and the first 72-hour stabilisation plan begins.

In their words

Recovery, kept

“They treated my brother as a person, not a diagnosis — and they taught our whole family how to support him without losing ourselves.”
Sister of a resident
“I arrived unable to imagine a normal week. I left with a routine, a plan and a team I could still call. Eight months on, I am still well.”

Questions

The things families ask first

  • No. You can contact us directly. Our psychiatrist will complete an assessment and, if inpatient care is appropriate, arrange admission — often within 24 hours.

  • Yes. Clinical information is shared only with the treating team and with people the resident authorises. Records are held securely and governed by our privacy policy.

  • We work with major insurers and third-party administrators, and assist with pre-authorisation and cashless claims where the policy covers mental-health admission. Our team will confirm your coverage before admission.

  • Yes. Visiting hours and family-therapy sessions are scheduled through the week. Early in an acute admission, visits may be brief and planned with the care team.

  • It depends on the person and the condition. Acute stabilisation is often 2 – 4 weeks; rehabilitation programmes typically run 6 – 12 weeks. The plan is reviewed with the resident and family throughout.
