About Sakura
An institute built around one idea: mental illness deserves real medicine and real kindness
Sakura Institute of Mind Sciences was founded by clinicians who were tired of the false choice between cold hospitals and unproven retreats. We wanted a place that does both things properly.
Who we are
The name is a promise
Sakura — the cherry blossom — stands for a season that is brief, fragile and worth protecting. “Institute of Mind Sciences” is the other half: what we offer is clinical, structured and accountable.
We are a licensed psychiatric and rehabilitation facility. That means registered beds, qualified doctors, audited protocols and the same duty of care you would expect from any hospital — combined with an environment designed for rest rather than fluorescent corridors.

Our approach
Evidence-based and holistic — in that order
The clinical core is non-negotiable. Everything else supports it.
Evidence first, always
Every treatment we offer is grounded in clinical evidence and international guidelines. If it isn't proven, it isn't part of the plan.
Dignity is not optional
Mental illness is a health condition, not a character flaw. People are met with the same respect they would receive on any hospital ward.
The family is part of the treatment
Recovery holds when the people at home understand it. Families are taught, supported and involved from the first week.
Care that reaches past discharge
The months after leaving are the fragile ones. Our aftercare is structured, scheduled and included — not an afterthought.
Clinical team
A full multidisciplinary team, not a rota of visitors
Every resident has a named psychiatrist and a named therapist who stay with them through the admission. The wider team meets weekly to review each person's plan together.
Adult, addiction and geriatric psychiatry
Assessment, CBT, DBT, trauma-focused therapy
24/7 ward care and medication support
Family work, discharge planning, aftercare
Routine, function and vocational recovery
Adjunctive, evidence-informed programmes
The residence
Quiet, green and private
Set back from the road, the residence is designed so that residents can move between solitude and community as they need to.
